As I watch you grow old and fail On the precipice of death, Your eyes so bright like a child of night Your spirit making waves, You talk of graves and longing thus Restless but not afraid, I feel your will with the words you thrust As I sit with you for days As I sit with you for days…
Of some dark moment of the night The owl takes flight – Take flight! And look with eyes into hidden doors That open onto hidden floors And sing the sultry hoot of blue Through glens and meadows ripe for dew As coldness waits the morning’s kiss To sit upon her frosted lips Alone she waits for pure release The winged one dost sense her pleas As flight is hindered in every sinew But life is needed, so flight is due Of some dark moment of the night The owl takes flight – Take flight!
Gambling with your chance Seems like a mistake Birds fly on the wind And so do we But fly toward your destiny.
Look inside and ask for truth It’s in there somewhere I promise you Don’t look outside for authority Too many people are trying to be.
Understand reality by what you can create Find out for yourself if something is fake Find out for yourself if a “fact” can pass your test Lead by example Leave following to the rest.
But don’t forget your brethren When you find hard won answers Know that you are right Teach them how to fight For the truth that never changes For the truth that never rearranges For the truth that you found when you Stopped listening to fools And opened up to the idea–of You.
